Everything you Need To Know About Emojis
We have written a lot of articles in our time. However, we are positive that this is going to be one of the oddest ones we have ever written. We want to do a little bit of a guide to the world of emojis, just so you know what you are getting yourself in for when you play the emoji slot machine.
What is an Emoji?
Weirdest question ever, but there was a whole legal case built around this, so we might as well answer it.
Heard of an emoticon? That is completely different to an emoji. Head to twitter and call an emoticon an emoji and we are absolutely positive you will be slaughtered.
An emoticon is text only. So: ; ) is a wink face emoticon. A 😉 (i.e. a picture) is an emoji. Big difference. We swear!
Emojis were invented back in the 1990s in Japan, as all sorts of obscure stuff is. They can come in different forms, some of which we are going to cover in the next section.
Mainly the ones related to the Emoji Planet slot machine. Basically, emojis are meant to convey words in pictorial form. Awesome, right?
The Emoji Planet slot makes use of several different emojis. Again, oddest section we have ever written, but bear with us on this one! We are going to try and give examples of how you would use each emoji if you were talking to your friends on Facebook, Skype, or whatever else you young kids use now.
Bomb: literally, a picture of a bomb. Probably best use if you are trying to say “that is the bomb” (which we swear kids still say). Try not to use it for anything else, though. Probably do not want police to visit your house.
Pizza: hungry? Great! The pizza emoji is just the one that you need. Does not necessarily mean you want pizza, although who would not want pizza?
Kiss: In love? Want to tell somebody you love them but don’t fancy going to their house to give them an actual kiss? Well, the kiss emoji is just for you! Also the emoji that you can use on your crush, they respond and then you tell them “sorry. My friend did it”. Yes. Adults still do that.
Rocket: not one that we use a lot in our chats and we can’t quite think of a use for the rocket emoji. However, it appears in the Emoji Planet slot machine and the movie, so we have no doubt that it is going to be one that gets a lot of use over the coming years. We are sure you can find a use for this one.
Two Hearts: again, symbolise your love for somebody. Friends, partners, random cat photos. You name it.
There are some emojis which are popular but don’t appear in the slot. You have your winking face ( 😉) for those who are feeling a bit suspect. Your smiling face (😊) for when you have no idea what to say to somebody. Just think of it as akin to smiling and nodding, and then your shocked emoji, for when somebody says something completely unbelievable but you are too lazy to respond to them.
The Emoji Company
The Emoji company are a company based in Germany. They license out the use of emojis around the world. The company has made more than 6,000 emojis. If you use a social media service, then we are positive that you have encountered at least one of their emojis. They make t-shirts, fashion accessories, and all sorts of weird and whacky stuff.
The Emoji Movie
There is a movie coming out about the Emoji brand in the near future. July 2017, in fact. We have no doubt that it is going to be a rip-roaring success, because who doesn’t like emojis?
We can’t tell you that much more about it right now as we have not seen the movie. However, it is family-focused, so it should be alright. Not groundbreaking, just alright. No doubt to sell merchandise, to be honest.
The Emoji Slot Machine
Ah. The reason why you are on this website. The Emoji slot machine from NetEnt. This is a game which cleverly utilises emojis in the various features.
Honestly, it is one of the best slots we have played in years so we encourage you to check out the review! It is loosely based around the movie, albeit with a couple of differences. This is probably going to stick around a lot longer than the movie does.
